Job summary

The State of West Virginia is seeking a booking clerk to support security staff in inmate intake and release within a secure facility. You will interpret court orders, route actions to the appropriate department and explain basic rules and procedures.

You will maintain the OIS system, inventory inmate property, and assist with housing assignments, fingerprinting, and photographing for identification. You will communicate with local courts, judges, clerks, prosecutors, attorneys, other

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of related experience in office work or customer-facing roles required.
• Substitution via college hours or vocational training allowed.

Responsibilities

• Assist security staff with processing inmates for intake and release.
• Interpret court orders and route to appropriate department.
• Maintain the OIS system and update with current court orders.
• Fingerprinting and photographing inmates for identification.
• Communicate with courts, judges, clerks, prosecutors, attorneys and law enforcement.
• Assist with inventory of inmate property and housing assignments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
