Rutgers University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) seeks a Forensic Mental Health Clinician for Northern State Prison in Newark, NJ. You will complete specialized psychological testing and assess clinical needs of adult inmates sentenced to the Department of Corrections.

You will provide crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy, and education while coordinating treatment plans, liaising with staff and community agencies, and maintaining records in a secure correctional setting.

Qualifications

• Ph.D./Psy.D./Ed.D. in Psychology with relevant experience including training in psychological testing.
• Licensed in New Jersey as a practicing psychologist or unrestricted permit to practice in NJ.
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform specialized psychological testing and assessment of adult inmates.
• Provide crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy, and psycho-education as indicated.
• Coordinate treatment plans with inmates and Department of Corrections staff.
• Manage caseload ensuring quality of care and security requirements.
• Maintain inmate records and liaise with community agencies as needed.
