Rutgers University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) seeks a Forensic Mental Health Clinician for the Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center in Avenel, NJ. You will perform specialized psychological testing and assess clinical needs of inmates sentenced to the Department of Corrections.

The role requires a doctoral degree in psychology, NJ licensure or permit, and a valid driver's license for site-to-site travel.

Qualifications

• Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D. in Psychology with relevant experience including training in psychological testing and minimum of two years’ experience in a behavioral health setting.
• Must be licensed in New Jersey as a practicing Psychologist or have an unrestricted permit to practice psychology in NJ.
• Valid Driver’s License and own vehicle to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Executes specialized psychological testing and assessments for adult inmates.
• Provides crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy, and psycho-education as needed.
• Develops psychosocial treatment plans with inmates and staff.
• Advocates for appropriate resources based on assessed needs.
• Manages caseload considering care quality and security requirements.
• Oversees case management and coordinates treatment with community agencies.
• Demonstrates competency in testing and understanding adult inmate needs.
