Rutgers University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) invites applications for a Forensic Mental Health Clinician at Garden State Youth Correctional Facility in Yardville, NJ. The clinician will conduct psychological testing and provide therapy to adult inmates under the Department of Corrections.

Requires doctoral degree in psychology, New Jersey license, and at least two years of relevant experience; valid driver's license; onsite work; full-time, 37.5 hours; competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D. in Psychology with relevant experience in psychological testing.
• Minimum two years’ experience in behavioral health care or related setting.
• Must be licensed or hold an unrestricted permit to practice psychology in New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized psychological testing and assessment of clinical needs of adult inmates.
• Provides crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy and psycho-education as indicated to inmates.
• Develops psychosocial treatment plans with inmates and corrections staff.
• Advocates for resources based on assessed needs.
• Manages caseload with regard to quality of care and security needs.
• Coordinates treatment and liaises with community agencies; maintains inmate records.
• Demonstrates competency in psychological testing and understanding of inmate needs.
