Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a CORRECTIONAL SENTENCE SPECIALIST at North West Florida Reception Center. The role focuses on accurately assessing and classifying inmates by needs, risks, and behaviors to ensure proper housing and program placement.

Not a telework position; incumbent reports to the FDC office in the service area and may engage in court affidavits and inter-state detainer actions as required.

Qualifications

• Preference will be given to applicants with supervisory experience and strong data interpretation abilities.
• Experience auditing, analyzing, and interpreting data is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify and calculate tentative release dates to ensure alignment with commitment papers and statutes.
• Prepare release documents and verify final release dates with required authorizations and records.
• Maintain accurate inmate data entries in the information system and assist in training new staff.
• Manage daily inmate records including cell changes, work assignments, disciplinary reports, and sentence modifications.
• Coordinate affidavits, testify in court, manage inter-state detainer actions, and oversee inmate file transfers.
