Job summary

Genesis Marine seeks a Trip Pilot to ensure safe and efficient operation of the vessel and its tow, including navigation, piloting, seaworthiness, crew safety, and environmental protection along Gulf Coast routes.

The role entails bridge administration, crew supervision, on-the-job training, and coordination with the Master. Must hold USCG license, Merchant Mariner document, STCW, and FCC radio permit where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and respond to commands in English.
• Spanish language ability preferred for communication with some crew or partners.
• Valid driver’s license and TWIC card are required.
• US Merchant Mariner's Document and a STCW certificate are required by law.
• U.S. Coast Guard license valid for vessel type, tonnage, route and service.
• FCC Marine Radio Operators Permit is required.

Responsibilities

• Safely pilot, navigate, and maintain the vessel and tow.
• Ensure seaworthiness and crewmember safety, protect cargo and environment.
• Oversee bridge management, watchkeeping, and administrative tasks.
• Supervise deck crew and coordinate with Master/Relief Master.
• Maintain professional relations with charterers while prioritizing safety and commercial goals.
• Complete bridge management and HR administrative duties.
