Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (0.5 FTE) for weekend coverage. The role is based at the South Lake Union location with Saturday and Sunday shifts from 7:45 am to 6:15 pm; onboarding may require weekdays for two weeks.

The RN will perform nursing assessment, participate in care planning, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the care team. Infusion duties and chemotherapy safety are included; ongoing development is provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Washington State RN license or ability to obtain WA MSL within 60 days of hire.
• BLS certification required and Oncology Chemotherapy certification within 3 months.
• ONS Chemotherapy Provider Card required within 3 months of hire.
• Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs and evaluate adaptation to health changes.
• Develop a plan of care based on disease, symptoms, and response to treatment.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on disease, treatment, side effects, and symptom management.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Refer patients to social work, home health care, nutrition, and other resources as needed.
• Implement, evaluate, and modify the plan of care.
• Incorporate research and evidence into clinical practice.
