Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA, is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join an interdisciplinary care team at South Lake Union. The RN provides patient-centric care, performs nursing assessments, develops and implements care plans, and educates patients and families about treatments and potential side effects.

The role emphasizes collaboration, evidence-based practice, and flexibility with weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Washington State Registered Nurse Multistate License (MSL) or ability to upgrade to WA MSL within 60 days of hire.
• Oncology experience will be provided with training and support if needed.
• Current BLS certification renewed every 2 years.
• ONS Chemotherapy Provider Card within 3 months of hire.
• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment.
• Excellent time management and independent work skills.
• Strong communication and listening abilities, including patient education.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients and evaluate adaptation to health changes.
• Develop and implement a care plan based on disease, symptoms, and response to treatment.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on disease processes, treatment, side effects, and symptom management.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Administer IV hydration, electrolyte replacement, chemotherapy/biotherapy, and blood products.
• Integrate research and evidence-based knowledge into clinical practice.
