Qualifications

• Must hold B.S. or PharmD in good standing with the GA Board of Pharmacy.
• Strong interpersonal skills with staff, referral sources, physicians, and patients.
• Excellent written and verbal customer service and proficient computer skills.
• Business and financial understanding of operating a profitable pharmacy.
• Preferred: three years of clinical experience.
• Preferred: experience managing pharmacy support staff.
• Preferred: infusion therapy and sterile compounding experience.
• Preferred: sterile compounding training.

Responsibilities

• Performs pharmacy management activities in compliance with regulatory and ethical standards and organizational policies.
• Oversees the physical maintenance and organization of the pharmacy.
• Acts as a liaison between the Board of Managements and staff.
• Interviews, orients, and evaluates employees within company departments.
• Upholds regulatory mandates on health care provision by professionals.
• Resolves questions, problems, and issues across departments.
• Implements and upholds company policies and protocols for consumers.
• Involved in strategic planning to increase revenue and improve care quality.
• Maintains knowledge of USP <797> for sterile compounding quality.
• Oversees performance improvement processes and assigns staff to improvement activities.
• Performs chart and lab results review for product selection and supply management.
• Evaluates physician medication orders for appropriateness, cost, safety, and completeness.
• Monitors patient progress and communicates results to physicians.
• Supervises pharmacy staff in compounding and labeling of products.
• Assists in training and orientation of new employees and educational programs.
• Participates in on-call rotation.
