Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist for its Southeast group to manage contracts for materials and equipment from start to finish. You will negotiate terms, purchase items, monitor pricing and shipments, and resolve issues across projects.

The role supports procurement and supplier relations within a construction environment, offering growth toward procurement leadership and broader exposure to project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management or related OR relevant experience in Supply Chain processes as outlined above.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in an Engineering and/or Industrial/Transportation Construction related supply chain or similar role.
• Minimum of 1 year negotiation experience (preferred) or demonstrated ability to negotiate material/vendor subcontracts.
• Experience with drafting and managing material/equipment contracts and understanding terms & conditions.
• Understanding procurement execution, estimating, expediting, and site purchasing is desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel) and general database use.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the contract process for assigned materials/equipment; negotiate T's and C's; manage change orders.
• Purchase high quality materials at lowest possible cost per specs and drawings.
• Coordinate with staff, users, and vendors to resolve defective goods or services and determine corrective action.
• Leverage vendors/subcontractors to create cost savings for projects.
• Research and evaluate suppliers on price, quality, service, availability, and reputation.
• Monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve delivery issues.
• Prepare and evaluate RFPs; develop and manage material and vendor subcontracts; interface with Engineering/Construction teams.
