Job summary

New Relic, Inc. is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT Engineering team, focusing on network infrastructure and enterprise AI enablement. You will own the networks that connect our global workforce and help deploy AI tools for faster operations.

This role emphasizes automation, scalability, and reliability with strong ownership of platforms. You will collaborate with Security, Compliance, Facilities, IT Support, and Engineering teams, and you’ll have opportunities to lead projects

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in network, infrastructure, or IT engineering.
• Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, TLS, VPN, proxy, firewall).
• Hands-on experience with Meraki or comparable enterprise network infrastructure.
• Experience working with ISPs and carriers, including circuit management and outage escalation.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise AI platforms (Gemini, Claude or similar), including administration or integration work.
• Proficiency in a scripting or programming language (Python, Bash, JavaScript) and experience building against REST APIs.
• Understanding of data security principles as they apply to AI usage (data classification, DLP, least privilege).
• Strong critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to document designs and teach others.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve core network infrastructure across our global offices while driving the technical rollout and governance of AI platforms across the company.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include design, deployment, and management of network infrastructure.
• Build AI-powered automations that reduce manual work across IT and business teams.
• Design and enforce AI usage controls, including data protection, DLP, audit logging, and access policies.
• Maintain network documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.
