Los Rios Community College District is seeking an experienced Help Desk technician to handle a variety of duties under supervision. The role involves processing campus and district work requests, generating reports, and coordinating with IT staff.
The position requires an associate degree in computer science or related field and 1–2 years of related experience. Typical duties include maintaining phone inventories, ERM/PeopleSoft documentation, and handling telecom equipment as needed.
This is an experienced technician. Under some supervision,incumbents perform a variety of Help Desk duties.

Processes work requests from campuses and/or District Office;clarifies requests if needed and assigns Information Services WorkRequests to appropriate person. Creates and distributes reportsrelated to work requests and technicians' schedules. Issues routinerecurring work orders and special work orders as needed. Follows upwith customers, answers questions, provides status updates, andmakes referrals to assigned IT personnel for answers to technicalquestions. Monitors work in progress and records or inputs workresolution by outside vendors and non-Los Rios technicians. Assiststechnicians by providing information, clarification, or referralsas needed. Assigns phone numbers District-wide and maintains thedatabase for Los Rios phone numbers and produces reports from thisdatabase. Maintains ERM (enterprise resource management system –PeopleSoft) operations documentation on-line for District-wideaccess. Maintains and issues telecom equipment; issues phones frominventory to technicians; and tracks and maintains phone inventory.Performs related duties as required.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: An Associate degree in computersciences or closely related field (or completion of an equivalentcertificate program) and one years' experience directly related tojob duties; OR, two years' experience directly related tojob duties; OR, a combination of training and/or experiencetotaling four years that is likely to have provided the requiredlevel of knowledge and abilities.
