Job description

Information Systems Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool)

Madera Community College Center. This part‑time position is open until filled.

Essential Functions of Position

The ideal candidate will share the Madera Community College Center’s commitment to educating a racially and socio‑economically diverse student population.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing instruction in Information Systems in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evenings, weekends, online, off‑campus, and large‑group classes as needed.
  • Maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position.
  • Using a variety of pedagogies and integrating a wide range of instructional delivery systems, including innovative uses of technology for face‑to‑face, online, and hybrid formats.
  • Communicating effectively with students.
  • Using effective teaching methods appropriate to the subject matter and adhering to institutionally approved curriculum course outlines of record.
  • Evaluating student progress through tests, examinations, written assignments, and oral responses in keeping with course objectives.
  • Providing course syllabi to students.
  • Maintaining classroom records in accordance with District Policy.
  • Submitting all required student grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner.
  • Fulfilling all duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Any bachelor’s degree or higher AND two years of directly related experience.
  • OR associate degree AND six years of directly related experience.
  • OR a valid California Community College Credential.
  • OR equivalent education and/or experience (requires equivalency).
  • All candidates must demonstrate responsiveness to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Teaching experience at the secondary or post‑secondary level.
  • Teaching experience in a breadth of courses and using a variety of pedagogies.
  • Demonstrated teaching ability.
  • Willingness to teach online classes.
  • Experience working with a diverse student population.
  • Related work and professional experience.
  • Experience in computer‑assisted instruction and other instructional technologies.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to develop positive relationships.
  • Ability to develop curriculum focused on student learning outcomes.
  • Experience working with students of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Recent experience working with African American, Latinx, Native American, and other racially minoritized students and understanding of historical patterns of exclusion.
  • Willingness to examine and re‑mediate instructional practices to support racially minoritized students.
  • Experience addressing equity issues in the classroom.
  • Potential to contribute to institutional vitality and growth.
  • Knowledge of the community college mission and goals.
Salary & Benefits

Starting rates are $45.49–$61.78 for lecture, $38.67–$52.55 for lab, and $38.30–$52.05 for non‑instructional positions. Sick leave accrual is based on assignment hours.
