Qualifications

  • California Community College Credential or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a part‑time schedule of Industrial Technology courses as assigned.
  • Use diverse instructional delivery systems including face‑to‑face, online, and/or hybrid formats.
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff.
  • Maintain records and adhere to curriculum outlines of record.
  • Submit grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner.
  • Fulfill duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.

Education

Industrial Technology Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool)

Industrial Technology Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool) – Madera Community College.

Responsibilities
  • Teach a part‑time schedule of Industrial Technology courses as assigned;
  • Use a variety of pedagogies and integrate a wide range of instructional delivery systems, including innovative and creative uses of technology for face‑to‑face, online, and/or hybrid formats;
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff;
  • Use effective teaching methods appropriate to the subject matter and adhere to institutionally approved curriculum outlines of record;
  • Evaluate student progress through tests and examinations, written assignments, oral responses, etc., in keeping with course objectives;
  • Provide course syllabi to students;
  • Maintain classroom records in accordance with District Policy;
  • Turn in all required student grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner;
  • Teach assignments in a variety of instructional settings and times, including classes as needed;
  • Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity‑minded practice within the classroom;
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of directly related professional experience; or
  • Associate degree and six years of directly related professional experience; or
  • A valid California Community College Credential; or
  • The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience and skill incorporating elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility;
  • Recent experience working with African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, Native American, and other racially minoritized students and understanding historical patterns of exclusion;
  • Willingness to examine and remediate one’s instructional, relational, and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support racially minoritized students;
  • Related work and professional experience;
  • Experience working with students of various cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds, including students with disabilities;
  • Experience working with traditionally under‑represented student populations, such as students of color and foster youth, and the ability to support students across sociocultural and socioeconomic diversities;
  • Experience in facilitating multicultural and cross‑cultural communication with sensitivity to diverse backgrounds;
  • Experience with, and sensitivity to, under‑prepared and high‑need students at the community college;
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to work collaboratively with faculty and staff to enhance instruction, curriculum, student learning support and student success;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with computers and other technologies used to provide high‑quality instruction and support to students;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students and staff;
  • Knowledge of current assessment methods and materials;
  • Knowledge of the community college and its mission and goals.
Salary and Benefits
  • Newly hired part‑time faculty will be placed on step one of the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule;
  • Salary classification placements on the salary schedule will be based on education and experience as outlined in the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Classifications;
  • Sick leave accrual is based on assignment hours.
