Human Services Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool) – Madera Community College

Madera Community College is committed to serving a diverse student population, including Latinx, Asian/Pacific Islander, Black/African American, White, American Indian/Alaska Native, and multiracial students. The successful candidate will provide equity‑mindful teaching, collaborate with faculty and staff, and contribute to closing equity gaps across the institution.

Responsibilities
  • Teach a part‑time schedule of Human Services courses as assigned.
  • Employ a variety of pedagogies and integrate technologies for face‑to‑face, online, and hybrid modalities.
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Use appropriate teaching methods aligned with approved curriculum course outlines.
  • Evaluate student progress through tests, examinations, assignments, and oral responses.
  • Provide course syllabi and maintain accurate classroom records per District Policy.
  • Submit required grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner.
  • Teach in a variety of instructional settings and times, including classes as needed.
  • Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of instructors as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with two years of directly related professional experience, or
    • Associate degree with six years of directly related professional experience, or
    • Valid California Community College Credential, or
    • Equivalent education and/or experience (requiring equivalency).
  • Must petition for equivalency if transcript degrees do not exactly match the stated qualifications.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience incorporating equity, diversity, and inclusion into all responsibilities.
  • Recent work with African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, Native American, or other minoritized students.
  • Willingness to evaluate and improve instructional and relational practices to better support racially minoritized students.
  • Professional experience with diverse student populations, including students with disabilities.
  • Ability to facilitate multicultural communication with cultural competence.
  • Knowledge of assessment methods and materials.
  • Understanding of community college missions and goals.
  • Proficiency with computers and educational technologies.

  • Placed on step one (1) of the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
  • Salary classification based on education and experience per Part‑Time Faculty Salary Classifications.
  • Sick leave accrual based on assignment hours.
