IT Strategic Analyst
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATE

Under general supervision of the Strategic Management Chief, Information Technology Manager I (IT Mgr I), the Information Technology (IT) Associate is responsible for business/program, risk, strategic, and data analysis; policy management activities; providing support, monitoring risk and performance metrics and reporting outcomes. The ITA will demonstrate an understanding of data processing concepts, practices, methods, and principles, including an understanding of the current evolving industry trends and standards. Strong team building and communication skills are essential and required. The incumbent will be required to work in a fast-paced environment on leading edge technology platforms and systems in a team environment alongside other IT professionals.

Telework

This position is eligible to work remotely within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. CDT has a minimum in-office requirement of four days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework. The telework policy is subject to change, and additional in-office days may be required and/or minimal notification may be given to report to the worksite if an urgent need arises.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Working Conditions

CA Residency:

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview. However, upon a job offer, candidates must provide proof of residence in California prior to their appointment becoming effective, or the offer may be rescinded.

  • Travel to CDT campuses and customer locations to coordinate strategic management activities and/or attend meetings may be required.
  • May be required to work on weekends and outside normal work hours.

The California Department of Technology (CDT) is the guardian of public data, a leader in information technology (IT) services and solutions, and has broad responsibility and authority over all aspects of technology in California state government, including policy formation, interagency coordination, IT project oversight, information security, technology service delivery, and advocacy.
