Job summary

Genesis HealthCare seeks an Infection Preventionist to oversee the nursing center's Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP). The role acts as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator and facilitator for staff across locations focusing on prevention, surveillance, outbreak management, and employee health.

Requirements include RN licensure, a Bachelor's degree preferred, and at least three years of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN licensure by the State Board of Nursing.
• Must complete specialized training in infection prevention and control within 90 days of hire.
• A minimum of three years full-time or equivalent nursing experience is required.
• Must be able to work flexible hours to meet with employees on evening and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support IPCP by providing infection prevention and control training for staff.
• Create and implement education programs in response to identified infection control needs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor the IPCP to ensure quality of patient care relating to infections and communicable diseases.
