Job summary

YMCA Central New Mexico is seeking a Lead Infant Teacher to direct the classroom, guide staff, and implement the curriculum in line with YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. You will ensure safe ratios, design engaging activities, and foster strong parent connections.

Responsibilities include observing child development, conducting conferences, maintaining the learning environment, and coordinating with the Program Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law.
• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting.
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate program activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Able to hold State License for the classroom (Infant, Toddler and Preschool).

Responsibilities

• Assist Program Coordinator with development and implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
• Designs and implements daily lesson/activity.
• Assist Program Coordinator to insure proper participant/staff ratios.
• Assist Program Coordinator in planning and preparation of a creative learning environment.
• Supervises the children, classroom, and all.
• Makes ongoing observations and evaluations of each child.
• Conducts parent conferences and maintains communication with parents.
• Maintains program site and resources.
• Attends family nights, program activities, staff meetings and training.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures including medical and disciplinary procedures.
