Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks a skilled maintenance technician to assist in operating and maintaining a high-pressure boiler system in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

You will monitor, inspect, and document boiler and related equipment, while supporting safety and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires basic mechanical and electrical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work rotating shifts and weekends.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work in a team.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems for documentation and record keeping.
• Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operation and maintenance of high-pressure steam generation plant to ensure safe, reliable production of steam.
• Monitor boiler systems, perform routine inspections, and support preventative maintenance activities.
• Record shift logs, fuel usage, and system data using computerized systems.
• Respond to call-backs and maintain staffing coverage for 24/7 operation.
• Set up and use hand and power tools; prepare materials for maintenance per work orders.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and facility teams to meet plant performance goals.
