Job summary

Kanawha Scales & Systems, Inc. in Parkersburg, WV is seeking a Scale Service Technician (CDL Required) to ensure accurate operation of industrial and commercial scales. The role covers installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair, with emphasis on safety and customer service.

You will work with diverse equipment, maintain records, coordinate with clients, and meet quality standards while supporting 24/7/365 operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in scale installation, calibration, and repair.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and NIST Handbook 44 standards.
• Proficiency with calibration and measurement equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions.
• Valid driver’s license; Class B (or A) CDL required.
• AC/DC, MIG welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install industrial, laboratory, and commercial scales per manufacturer specs.
• Perform calibration procedures and adjust settings for precision.
• Maintain and repair scales to minimize downtime.
• Inspect scales for wear and functionality; address load cells and displays.
• Maintain detailed service and calibration records and reports.
• Communicate with clients regarding service needs and estimates.
• Follow safety protocols around heavy equipment and electricals.
• Ensure serviced scales meet quality and regulatory standards.
• Track tools, parts, and equipment; replenish supplies as needed.
• Stay updated on scale technology and best practices.
