Job summary

Kanawha Scales & Systems LLC in Bailey, NC is seeking a Scale Service Technician (CDL Required) to install, calibrate, and service a variety of industrial and commercial scales. You will diagnose issues, perform maintenance, and ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance while delivering professional customer service.

The role requires 2–3 years of field experience, a valid CDL, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Training and benefits are provided to support long-term growth within the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• 2–3 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; Class B (or A) CDL required.
• Experience with ISO 9001, NIST Handbook 44 a plus.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and set up industrial, laboratory, and commercial scales according to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform calibration procedures and adjust settings to meet precision requirements.
• Maintenance and repair of scales to minimize downtime.
• Inspect scales for wear, damage, and functionality; address issues with load cells, displays, and other components.
• Maintain detailed service and calibration records, including certificates and service reports.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding service requirements, estimates, and technical questions.
• Follow safety protocols when working with heavy equipment and electrical components.
• Ensure all serviced scales meet quality and regulatory standards.
• Track tools, parts, and equipment; replenish supplies as needed.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and scale technology advancements.
