Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a summer engineering intern to support the Monticello Design Engineering Team and Capital Projects in Minnesota. You will work full-time during summer (up to 40 hours/week) and part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours/week) under a hybrid work model, commuting to designated facilities.

You will engage in safety-focused design tasks, data analysis, and reporting tool improvements while researching equipment replacements and lifecycle documentation.

Qualifications

• Current student, Sophomore or higher
• Enrolled in ABET-accredited college pursuingElectrical, mechanical or civil engineering
• Occasional travel to meet engineers at downtown facilities and sister plant
• Full-time during summer (up to 40 hours/week)
• Part-time during school year (up to 20 hours/week)
• Able to commute to work location under hybrid policy
• Computer/data science experience to support software and database improvements
• Strong problem solving and safety focus
• Must pass nuclear background screening for unescorted access

Responsibilities

• Support the Monticello Design Engineering Team and Capital Projects
• Work on industrial safety items including shaft guards and platforms
• Contribute to site engineering document change backlog
• Improve reporting tools and integrate AI into design activities
• Assist early screening of outage modifications
• Research operating experience for site troubleshooting
• Identify replacements for obsolete equipment
• Update lifecycle management and site calculations
• Implement Endeavor software
