Job summary

Arcosa Wind Towers, Inc. in Newton, IA is seeking a Safety Coordinator to lead plant safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and NFPA standards.

You will develop and maintain SDS manuals, train staff, and drive EHS improvements in a manufacturing environment. The role requires strong organizational skills, a safety-focused mindset, and the ability to work with plant leadership to reduce risk and promote a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• OSHA knowledge of safety standards and compliance.
• Knowledge of ANSI and NFPA codes and standards.
• Experience handling confidential information and sensitive data.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to make independent decisions on safety matters.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and participate in plant safety meetings with management.
• Implement, inspect, and maintain SDS manuals at sites.
• Train employees in SDS procedures.
• Ensure signage, barriers, and information to warn hazards and prevent access to hazards.
• Administer and maintain facility-specific EHS programs.
• Participate in OSHA/EPA/best practice improvement initiatives.
• Determine corrective/preventive measures, assign responsibilities, and follow up.
• Conduct periodic plant safety inspections.
• Provide safety recommendations to management on hazards and training, equipment operation, and handling materials.
• Maintain SDS program and hazardous materials controls; test materials prior to operations.
• Disseminate safety communications in a timely manner.
• Promote a positive safety culture and engage employees.
• Coordinate with Business Leadership and Corporate Safety.
• Maintain training records in employee files.

1-3 years Industrial/Manufacturing experience
