Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to improve safety, efficiency, capacity, and scalability of operations at the Davison Road Processing Center. The role blends industrial engineering with hands-on process engineering, continuous improvement, and new-project development.

You will design workstations, conduct time studies, develop standardized work, and lead improvements from problem definition through sustainment, collaborating with Operations and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Engineering, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Five or more years of experience in industrial/manufacturing/warehouse/logistics engineering or equivalent operations.
• Experience with work measurement, time studies, standard-time development, labor planning, process balancing, or capacity analysis.
• Experience designing or improving workstations, layouts, material flow, or standardized work.
• Experience developing/maintaining job instructions and standardized operating methods.

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and improve workstations, processes, layouts, and material-flow solutions for processing-center operations.
• Conduct STDS time studies and work-measurement analyses to establish labor and capacity requirements.
• Develop labor plans, staffing models, process-balance recommendations, and throughput-improvement plans.
• Create and validate JES, SOS, and related standardized-work documentation.
• Lead process-improvement efforts from data collection to sustainment and coach teams.
