Job summary

General Motors is seeking an Industrial Engineer intern to analyze manufacturing operations and contribute to process improvements that could impact the bottom line. You will assess layouts, labor and material controls, and develop efficient methods under mentorship.

You’ll work full-time in a plant setting, collaborating with cross-functional teams and applying critical thinking and communication skills to drive practical changes and learn from experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
• Must be graduating between August 2027 and June 2029.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Willing to work in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Confirms or recommends changes to layouts, labor control and/or material control.
• Frequent contact with others outside the work group.
• Assists in developing accurate methods and optimum operation layout.
• Performs vital calculations to complete studies and change routines.
