Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is hiring an Estimator II for our National Industrial team. The Estimator II will manage and support preconstruction estimating, focusing on detailed cost information for high-tech manufacturing, labs and biotech sites.

The role involves quantity take-offs, subcontractor pricing, value design, cost validation and mentoring of junior staff. Strong Excel and Estimator tooling skills are expected; on-site coordination in a professional industrial setting is typical.

Qualifications

• 4 year engineering, architectural or management degree required, or experience in relevant field.
• 6+ years commercial construction experience.
• Knowledge of construction means and methods and ability to read project plans.
• Proficient with CSI and Uniformat II work breakdown structures.
• Strong quantity take-off and data summarization skills.
• MS Excel proficiency; OST, Bluebeam, VICO, Navisworks, Revit a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate conceptual and detailed estimates with project team.
• Perform quantity take-offs of construction systems.
• Solicit subcontractor pricing for budgeting and bidding.
• Scope, select and recommend subcontractors based on value.
• Create and monitor estimate updates as project scope evolves.
• Maintain data integrity and archive estimates; track historic costs.
• Provide preconstruction cost validation and schedule input.
• Review and feedback on estimates created by others.
• Mentor new estimators, project managers and engineers.
• Assist clients with conceptual budgets and cost modeling using Uniformat II.
