Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies in the South Chicago area is hiring an Outside Sales Representative to cover Orland Park, Tinley Park, Chicago Heights, East Chicago and Calumet City.

You will grow revenue, manage an existing territory, develop account strategies, and coordinate with service operations to drive bookings and margin.

The role offers base salary plus uncapped commissions, comprehensive benefits, and clear career progression across sales, operations, or management.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in retaining customers and developing new business.
• Selling experience in industrial environments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Written and verbal communication skills including English grammar.
• Technical/flow control industry background; valves, instrumentation and pumps a plus.
• Be strategic, organized, and technologically savvy in sales territory management.

Responsibilities

• Manage an existing territory while developing new business.
• Develop and execute account strategies for regional sites; refineries, chemical plants, terminals, power/industrial facilities.
• Grow market share through cross selling and upgrading severe service, critical isolation, control valves, actuation, instrumentation, and aftermarket service.
• Build and maintain a healthy pipeline with accurate close dates, probability, and margin visibility.
• Conduct regular site visits, lead customer meetings, and coordinate plant walkdowns to identify MRO and project opportunities.
• Support outage/turnaround planning with customers.
• Maintain strong relationships with Maintenance, Reliability, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and Procurement.
