Job summary

OmniSource, a subsidiary, is seeking a skilled Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to inspect, repair, and maintain the auto shredder and related systems. You will work closely with production and operations to minimize downtime while upholding safety standards.

The role requires reading schematics, hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, welding, and electrical repairs, plus strong problem-solving and the ability to work without supervision in a heavy-duty environment.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining industrial machinery, preferably shredders or similar heavy equipment.
• Ability to read schematics, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical blueprints, and welding/fabrication.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and safe operation of maintenance vehicles and equipment.
• Experience with three-phase and single-phase electrical repairs and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance per manufacturer guidelines.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and respond to emergency breakdowns.
• Diagnose mechanical issues in the shredder and replace worn parts.
• Assist with installation of utilities and equipment.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safety protocols.
