Job summary

OmniSource is seeking a skilled Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to inspect, repair, and maintain shredding equipment and utility systems. You’ll work closely with production to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient operations.

Candidates should read schematics, troubleshoot hydraulics and electrical systems, weld, and fabricate as needed. A strong commitment to safety and hands-on problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience reading schematics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and blueprints.
• Ability to analyze problems, troubleshoot, and fix malfunctions.
• Previous work maintaining industrial machinery, preferably shredders.
• Safe operation of maintenance vehicles and equipment.
• Electrical repairs in 3-phase and single-phase systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance tasks according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• React to emergency breakdowns.
• Diagnose mechanical issues with the shredder, identify faulty components, replace worn parts, repair hydraulic leaks, and address malfunctions to minimize downtime.
• Assist with installation of utilities and equipment.
• Adhere to all safety protocols when working around the shredder, including the use of proper personal protective equipment and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.
