Job summary

OmniSource is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to inspect, repair, and maintain machinery and systems, primarily for the auto shredder operation.

You will perform preventative maintenance, welding, and installation of new equipment, ensure safety, and maintain complete documentation. Willingness to work with chemicals requiring full-face respirator/SCBA and to cover vacations as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires passing FIT test for full-face respirator and SCBA.
• Strong safety record and clear communication are essential.
• Industrial maintenance experience with electrical/mechanical aptitude.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• PLC knowledge and formal electrical/automation training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, project work and installation of new equipment.
• Welding and fabrication as needed.
• Work with chemicals that require full face respirator or SCBA.
• Maintain complete and accurate maintenance documentation.
• Monitor and ensure safe work practices.
• Cover maintenance vacations.
• Perform all other tasks assigned by leadership.
