OmniSource in Texas is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to inspect, repair and maintain the auto shredder operation, ensuring uptime and safe performance.

The role requires strong skills in hydraulics, welding, electrical work and PLCs; you'll respond to breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and follow lockout/tagout protocols while contributing to a team-focused environment.

Qualificações

• Proficient in schematics, hydraulics, and pneumatic diagrams.
• Able to analyze issues, troubleshoot malfunctions, and implement solutions.
• Experience maintaining industrial machinery, preferably shredders or similar heavy-duty equipment.
• Capable of safe operation of maintenance vehicles and equipment.
• Experience in three-phase and single-phase electrical repairs.
• Able to perform general electrical repairs and welding/fabrication tasks.
• Arc welding with stick and MIG abilities; PLC understanding.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs with minimal supervision.
• Commit to safety practices and follow lockout/tagout procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Regularly inspect shredder components like hammers, grates and liners for wear and tear, lubricate moving parts, check hydraulic systems.
• Perform scheduled maintenance tasks according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• React to emergency breakdowns.
• Diagnose mechanical issues with the shredder, identify faulty components, replace worn parts, repair hydraulic leaks, and address malfunctions to minimize downtime.
• Assist with installation of utilities and equipment.
• Adhere to all safety protocols when working around the shredder, including the use of proper personal protective equipment and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.
