Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for a fully onsite contract-to-hire role in North Chesterfield, VA. You will diagnose and repair basic electrical and mechanical issues on production equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and support with hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems.

The role requires welding ability and reading schematics, with overtime potential in a heavy manufacturing environment. Pay is $34.50/hour, with competitive benefits upon permanency.

Qualifications

• Mechanical maintenance experience in industrial settings.
• Basic electrical knowledge, including 480V systems.
• Experience with hydraulic systems in production environments.
• Experience with pneumatic systems and troubleshooting.
• Ability to perform minor welding for repair and fabrication.
• PLC troubleshooting and minor ladder logic modifications.
• Understanding of motor control and industrial motors.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced heavy industrial environment.
• Ability to perform basic preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical problems with machinery and equipment.
• Perform basic repairs to production machinery using general maintenance techniques and tools.
• Complete basic preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, including lubrication and alignment.
• Perform basic welding for repair and fabrication of equipment.
• Assist with electrical, hydraulic, PLC, and pneumatic system work as required.
• Support minor PLC troubleshooting and ladder logic modifications under guidance.
• Read schematics and blueprints to understand layouts.
• Monitor equipment condition and utilize planned outages for maintenance.
• Collaborate with mechanics and operators to reduce downtime.
• Work safely in a hot, loud, and dirty industrial environment with extrusion processes.
• Respond to equipment issues quickly and prioritize tasks by operational needs.
