Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance on production, processing, and packaging equipment. You will read schematics, troubleshoot electrical issues, operate meters and tools, and support equipment installation.

The role requires 1–3 years in maintenance, with a high school diploma; trade/technical schooling is preferred. Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration is a plus. Strong documentation and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade/technical school preferred in electrical/mechanical fields.
  • 1–3 years of maintenance, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, PLC/controls, or HVAC experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and/or repairs on production, processing, and packaging equipment and utility systems following safety procedures.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and support installation of new equipment.
  • Assist operators with training and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Document all repairs and maintain accurate paperwork.
  • Maintain inventory levels and assist in building upkeep and safety compliance.
