Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a motivated maintenance technician to service and repair production, processing and packaging equipment in a manufacturing setting. You will perform preventive maintenance, read schematics, and assist with new equipment installations while keeping detailed records.

Strong troubleshooting, welding, and electrical skills are valued. Applicants should have a high school diploma and 2–4 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment; ammonia

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Trade school or technical school preferred in electrical, PLC/HMI, mechanical, welding/fabrication, refrigeration, plumbing.
  • 2 to 4 years of maintenance, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC, and HVAC or related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and/or repairs on production, processing, and packaging equipment as well as utility systems, following safety procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections of equipment for reliability and performance.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders.
  • Support the installation of new equipment and assist operators with training or troubleshooting.
  • Complete work orders promptly and document all required information with accuracy.
