Classification: Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $25.00 - $30.00

Reports to: Director of Research and Development

Position Details

Type/Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM. May require long hours during breakdowns.

Job Description

Summary: The industrial maintenance technician is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical issues on manufacturing equipment such as stamping presses, conveyors, robotic welders, and automation packaging equipment.

Essential Functions

• Perform maintenance on production equipment (repair, electrical, mechanical, welding, fabrication)
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues (power transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics)
• Construct, assemble, and install machines using hand and power tools
• Support production environment as a resource
• Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs and scheduled maintenance
• Inspect equipment for performance and efficiency
• Read and interpret manuals and work orders
• Comply with OSHA safety rules
• Complete preventative maintenance per schedule
• Collaborate with departments to complete tasks efficiently
• Maintain maintenance records and paperwork

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving parts, vibration, and loud noise. Physical activity includes standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and lifting over 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.

Travel

Limited travel may be required.

Requirements

• 2-5 years’ experience as a millwright/maintenance mechanic in manufacturing
• Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems

Education & Experience

• Technical training, associate’s degree, or military experience in manufacturing
• 5+ years in production machines in metal stamping
• Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting
