Job description

Position Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Technician ensures the reliability of equipment and overall optimization equipment effectiveness of all machines for Boombox's process. Technicians will work safely and cohesively to provide mechanical and electrical skills to support the building, manufacturing equipment, preventative maintenance and support equipment as directed by the Plant Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of packing equipment
  • Knowledge of boilers
  • Knowledge of Bottling/canning processes
  • Ability to communicate and follow instructions
  • Basic knowledge of electricity and safety
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment, loaders unloaders.
  • Experience working in a fast pace environment
  • Working safely and in compliance with all OSHA and company requirements
  • Demonstrate leadership to the company organization through all activities.
  • Establish and maintain functioning maintenance systems to meet the business needs of the company.
  • Participate in teams and meetings to improve overall equipment effectiveness and other objectives as agreed to with the plant manager.
  • Maintenance employees will work as a team to complete preventive maintenance tasks and provide solutions for improvements to equipment, all with the goal of improving working conditions for all personnel.
  • Troubleshoots all equipment when problems arise.
  • Responsible for assisting production with start-up and/or shutdown as required.
  • Inspects equipment for damage and ensures proper procedures being followed.
  • Maintains high level of personal hygiene and keeps work area in a clean and sanitary condition in compliance with -GMP standards.
  • Willing to rotate between different functions as required.
  • Ensures compliance with all plant safety rules.
  • Participates in all manufacturing training and applies this knowledge to daily job duties and responsibilities.
  • Updates all related Line KPI information and graphs as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
  • Technical school, course work or degree, considered a plus
  • Additional training in related fields / equipment considered a plus
  • Welding experience considered a plus
  • Detail-oriented with a positive attitude and a desire to learn and contribute to the team.
  • Understands the importance of safety both for team members and for the products produced.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work within an entrepreneurial, non-structured environment with a willingness to do whatever job is required.
  • Must be able to lift-up to 50 lbs.
  • Position requires walking, standing, squatting, and reaching overhead on a regular basis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a mature and professional manner.
  • A basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • A basic understanding of Preventative Maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge of the various types of sensors and limit switches.
  • Read and follow instruction manuals and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Technicians must provide their own hand tools; large and specialty tools will be provided by the company
  • Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude, with a desire to increase their knowledge.
  • Training for the position will consist of the same training that new hires receive i.e. HACCP, Retort, Safety

Education & Experience

  • Food manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Forklift and boiler experience required.
  • Familiar with pumps, both pneumatic and electric.
