Position Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Technician ensures the reliability of equipment and overall optimization of equipment effectiveness for all machines involved in Boombox's processes. Technicians will work safely and cohesively, applying mechanical and electrical skills to support building maintenance, manufacturing equipment, preventative maintenance, and support equipment as directed by the Plant Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Knowledge of packing equipment, boilers, and bottling/canning processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
- Basic knowledge of electricity, safety, and mechanical equipment such as loaders and unloaders.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain safety and compliance with OSHA and company requirements.
- Demonstrate leadership through all activities.
- Establish and maintain effective maintenance systems aligned with business needs.
- Participate in teams and meetings to improve overall equipment effectiveness and other objectives as agreed with the plant manager.
- Work as a team to complete preventive maintenance tasks and suggest improvements.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
- Assist with production start-up and shutdown procedures.
- Inspect equipment for damage and ensure proper procedures are followed.
- Maintain high personal hygiene and keep work areas clean and sanitary in compliance with GMP standards.
- Willing to rotate between different functions as required.
- Ensure compliance with all plant safety rules.
- Participate in manufacturing training and apply this knowledge daily.
- Update all related Line KPI information and graphs as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required; technical school or coursework considered a plus.
- Additional training in related fields or equipment is a plus.
- Welding experience is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Understanding of safety, troubleshooting, and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work in an entrepreneurial, non-structured environment and perform various jobs.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk, stand, squat, and reach overhead regularly.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently professionally.
- Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, preventative maintenance, sensors, and limit switches.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and instruction manuals.
- Technicians must provide their own hand tools; large and specialty tools will be provided.
- Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude with a desire to expand knowledge.
- Training will include HACCP, Retort, and Safety procedures.
Education & Experience
- Food manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Forklift and boiler experience are required.
- Familiarity with pumps, both pneumatic and electric.
