Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing in Wisconsin is seeking a full-time Industrial Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machinery and other production equipment in a precision manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will diagnose issues, perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs, and carry out preventative maintenance while ensuring safety protocols are followed and equipment operates efficiently. A $2,000 hiring bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Ability to work under limited supervision
• Effective communication with coworkers and supervisors
• Preventive maintenance experience preferred
• CNC grinding and/or machining experience is a plus
• General knowledge of basic hand tools
• Follow all safety protocols and comply with company and industry standards
• Ability to lift 50 lbs+

Responsibilities

• Examine machines to diagnose issues, dismantle machines, replace parts, reassemble and adjust for efficient operation
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production equipment
• Repair CNC machines and/or robotics
• May occasionally fabricate replacement parts
• Perform general preventative maintenance on machinery
• Provide training to less experienced maintenance staff as needed

Job Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Examine machines to diagnose issues, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, reassemble machines and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production equipment
• Repair CNC machines and/or robotics
• May occasionally make replacement parts
• General preventative maintenance of machinery
• May need to provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff

What skills and experience are needed:

• Ability to work under limited supervision with minimal technical guidance
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
• Preventive industrial maintenance experience preferred, but not required
• Candidates with previous experience with CNC grinding and/or machining equipment, a plus!
• General knowledge and skill with basic hand tools
• Ability to follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and industry standard
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.+

Work Environment:

Well-lit temperature-controlled machine shop. Employees will need to be able to work while standing, sitting, bending, and climbing. Employees will be occasionally lifting and working inside of machines.
