Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team in Wisconsin. Under limited supervision, you will keep plant machinery and equipment in good working order and troubleshoot a range of manufacturing machines.

Responsibilities include examining machines to diagnose issues, repairing CNC machinery and robotics, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting with training of junior staff.

Qualifications

• Three years preventive industrial maintenance experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work under limited supervision with minimal technical guidance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs+.

• Examine machines to diagnose issues, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, reassemble machines and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
• Repair CNC machines and/or robotics.
• May occasionally make replacement parts.
• Clean filters and perform PM on coolant systems and mist collection components.
• Change or add oils and lubricants to production equipment.
• Maintain general cleanliness and organization of tools and maintenance area.
• Provide training to less experienced maintenance staff as needed.

Work Environment: Well-lit and clean machine shop with moderate noise. Staff members will need to be able to work while standing, sitting, bending, and climbing. Staff members will be occasionally lifting and working inside of machines.
