Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team. With limited supervision and technical guidance, you will keep plant machinery and mechanical systems in good working order and troubleshoot and solve problems on various manufacturing machines.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, replacing parts, repairing CNC machines and robotics, performing preventive maintenance, and training less experienced maintenance staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Limited supervision with minimal technical guidance.
• Effective communication with coworkers and supervisors.
• Three years preventive industrial maintenance experience preferred, but not required.
• Candidates with CNC grinding, machining equipment, or HVAC experience a plus.
• General knowledge and skill with basic hand tools.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.

• Examine machines to diagnose issues, dismantle, replace defective parts, reassemble, and adjust for efficient operation.
• Repair CNC machines and robotics.
• May occasionally fabricate replacement parts.
• Perform PM on coolant systems and mist collection components; change oils and lubricants.
• Maintain clean and organized tools and maintenance area.
• Provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff if needed.

Sumitomo is looking for a full time experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team!

Brief Description:

With limited supervision and technical guidance, keep plant machinery and mechanical in good working order. Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving of various manufacturing machines.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Examine machines to diagnose issues, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, reassemble machines and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation


• Repair CNC machines and/or robotics


• May occasionally make replacement parts


• Clean filters and general PM on coolant systems and mist collection components


• Changing or adding oils and lubricants to production equipment


• General cleaning and organization of tools and maintenance area


• May need to provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff

What skills and experience areneeded:

• Ability to work under limited supervision with minimal technical guidance


• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors


• Three years preventive industrial maintenance experience preferred, but not required


• Candidates with previous experience with CNC grinding, machining equipment, or HVAC a plus!


• General knowledge and skill with basic hand tools

Work Environment:

Well-lit, temperature-controlled machine shop. Employee will need to be able to work while standing, sitting, bending, and climbing. Employee will be occasionally lifting and working inside of machines.
