Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. is seeking a full-time experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team in New Berlin, WI. The role involves keeping plant machinery in good working order, troubleshooting, and performing repairs on various machines, including CNC and robotics.

Overview

Sumitomo is looking for a full time experienced Maintenance Technician to join our New Berlin, WI team.

Brief Description

With limited supervision and technical guidance, keep plant machinery and mechanical in good working order. Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving of various manufacturing machines.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Examine machines to diagnose trouble, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, reassemble machines and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation
• Repairing modern CNC machines and/or robotics
• May occasionally make replacement parts
• Cleaning filters and elements and completing general PM on coolant systems and mist collection components
• Changing or adding oils and lubricants to production equipment
• General cleaning and organization of tools and maintenance area
• May need to provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff

Skills and Experience Required

• Ability to work under limited supervision with minimal technical guidance
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
• Three years preventive industrial maintenance experience
• Candidates with previous experience with CNC grinding or machining equipment a plus!
• General knowledge and skill with basic hand tools
• HVAC skills are a plus
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.+

Work Environment

Well-lit and clean machine shop with moderate noise. Staff members will need to be able to work while standing, sitting, bending, and climbing. Staff members will be occasionally lifting and working inside of machines.
