Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. in Kentucky is seeking a reliable CNC Milling Machine Operator to prepare and operate CNC equipment, drill, tap, mill, and support tooling and setups in a well-lit, temperature-controlled shop.

You will read part drawings, use precision measuring tools, verify tolerances, report issues, and assist with setups; high school diploma required, 0–2 years experience, and you must lift up to 50 pounds; excellent benefits and a $2,000 hiring bonus are offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, tapping, milling, etc.
• Recognizing tooling and procedures where tolerances are followed
• Follow detailed instructions, work from standard coding and operational data to change or mount tools and position work pieces
• Check work at specific points; adjust machine and fixture stops to maintain finish and tolerance requirements
• Work from part drawings and use required precision measuring instruments to check and inspect work
• Recognize and report machine malfunctions, tooling difficulties, etc.
• Assist with setups

Work Environment:

Well-lit, clean and temperature-controlled machine shop with moderate noise. Staff members will need to be able to work while standing, sitting, bending, and climbing. Staff members will be occasionally lifting and working inside of machines.
