Job summary

Shaw Industries is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to keep production equipment safe, reliable, and efficient. This mid-level role focuses on maintaining critical machinery, reducing downtime, and supporting product quality.

You will work with a collaborative team, apply hands-on skills, and mentor entry-level technicians while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and safety standards on the plant floor.

Qualifications

• Strong background in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
• Proven mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Experience using CMMS or basic computer systems to document work and manage parts.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Solid math skills for measurements, conversions, and formulas.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on a wide range of industrial equipment.
• Maintain mechanical systems including bearings, shafts, pulleys, belts, chains, motors, and gearboxes.
• Service conveyance systems, piping, and utilities (steam, air, water).
• Diagnose and resolve equipment issues impacting safety, quality, and production efficiency.
• Execute repairs efficiently and communicate findings and corrective actions to teams.
• Complete work orders supporting plant initiatives and reliability improvements.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and process enhancements.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure effective execution of work.
