Job summary

UniFirst seeks a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team in a fast-paced industrial environment. You'll handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of equipment, following blueprints and specs, with on-the-job training provided.

We offer training, opportunities for career growth, a strong culture and a diverse team, with occasional night/weekend overtime as needed to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience repairing industrial equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required.
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools and precision measurement devices.
• Ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals and specs.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater testing and adjust chemicals as needed.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and repair as required.
• Record meter readings and take corrective actions as needed.
• Perform daily/weekly location and system safety checks.
• Inspect motors, belts, fluids, replace filters and maintain equipment.
• Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts/components per procedures.
• Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
