Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team in Indiana. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, and support preventive maintenance across facilities.

The role features a Monday–Friday work week with occasional night/weekend overtime and on-the-job training. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a preferred two-year technical degree, and experience reading blueprints with knowledge of maintenance

Qualifications

Must read blueprints and schematics.
Experience with maintenance equipment and repairs in a production setting.
Lockout/Tagout procedures knowledge and adherence.
Able to lift up to 80 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
Ensure safe operation of machinery and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
Follow blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer instructions.
Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments.
Perform boiler chemical testing and adjust chemicals as required.
Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and perform repairs as needed.
Record and analyze utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
Inspect and lubricate machinery parts per procedures and manuals.
Operate a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
