Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our UniFirst community in Indiana. As a Team Partner in the Maintenance Department, you will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must read blueprints/schematics.
• Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills required.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools and precision measurement devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater testing and adjust as needed.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and locations.
• Record and analyze meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Inspect belts, shafts, gears, and lubricate as required.
• Operate a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
