Job summary

PPG in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. You will read schematics, perform preventive maintenance, and collaborate with production to keep lines running efficiently.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing, hands-on diagnostic experience, and a willingness to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as an industrial maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic domains.
• Hands-on experience with test and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work from technical drawings and documentation.
• Detail-oriented problem solver with a strong sense of urgency.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently as needed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or shift changes, when required.
• Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license for travel between two plant locations.
• Experienced operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and SkyTrac.
• PLC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and repair industrial machinery.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify faults and restore performance.
• Implement preventive maintenance to reduce failures.
• Read and apply technical manuals and schematics.
• Coordinate maintenance windows with production to minimize downtime.
• Document work, track trends, and report equipment status.
• Enforce PPE and lock-out/tag-out safety practices.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new assets.
• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and SkyTrac safely.
• Lead continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
