Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and hands‑on Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our client’s manufacturing team in Glendale Heights. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding industrial machinery, electrical systems, facility equipment, and various production systems. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience and be comfortable working on industrial machinery, oil piping systems, filtration systems, forklifts, automatic screw machines, and facility‑related projects. This is a hands‑on position requiring someone who can diagnose problems, make repairs, fabricate components, and complete a variety of maintenance and shop projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, machinery, equipment, and electrical/electronic components.
- Read and interpret electrical codes, schematics, blueprints, manuals, and equipment specifications.
- Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machinery and equipment, including conveyors and programmable controllers.
- Connect power supply wiring, cables, and electrical components between machines and equipment.
- Diagnose electrical malfunctions involving transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, relays, switches, sensors, and other components.
- Use electrical and electronic test equipment to diagnose equipment problems and identify defective components.
- Repair or replace faulty electrical and electronic components, wiring, cables, motors, switches, relays, and sensing devices.
- Replace electric motor bearings and rewire motors as needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machinery and equipment.
- Observe and listen to operating machinery to identify abnormal conditions and determine the appropriate repair or adjustment.
- Dismantle machines and equipment using hand and power tools to inspect, repair, or replace defective components.
- Fit and assemble parts to fabricate or repair machine tools and industrial equipment.
- Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points using rulers, micrometers, calipers, scribers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Review blueprints, sketches, machine parts, and specifications to determine required materials and dimensions.
- Assist with machine repair, rebuilds, and maintenance of automatic screw machines.
- Perform general fabrication, welding, and shop repairs.
- Maintain and repair oil piping systems and filtration systems.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on forklifts and other facility equipment.
- Complete general facility and construction projects, including building offices, workbenches, and other structures.
- Perform painting and general facility improvements.
- Install and maintain computer/data lines and other facility wiring.
- Assist with a wide variety of maintenance, fabrication, and repair projects as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable electrical and maintenance standards.
