Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. in Massachusetts seeks an Industrial Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

You will interpret manuals, perform preventive maintenance on conveyors and power transmission equipment, and coordinate repairs while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, 1–5 years of hands-on experience, and a valid driver’s license; willingness to work

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will perform maintenance and repair on industrial machinery following manuals and safety standards.
• Experience with conveyors, power transmissions, and rotating equipment is preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to work 2nd/3rd shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.
• Prevents plant breakdowns by performing planned preventive maintenance on conveying systems, power transmissions and other power-driven rotating equipment.
• Communicates equipment issues resolution to operators.
• Works in extreme environments that are often “dirty”.
• Repairs or coordinates repair of worn defective machinery or equipment; tests machines to ensure quality and production meet specs.
• Performs housekeeping and uses tools while complying with safety regulations.
• Maintains daily equipment inspection logs to minimize downtime.
• Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and informs management of delays.
• Recommends measures to improve production, equipment performance and product quality.
• Cleans, inspects, and maintains recycling equipment such as discs and belts for MRf equipment.
• Participates in trainings and performs other duties to support the company’s mission and values.
