Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 1st shift in Sheffield Village, OH. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance of manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced industrial setting.

You will troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform safe repairs, and work with a variety of tools to keep production running smoothly. This is a contract-to-hire, on-site position with opportunities after conversion.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and production equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns, diagnose equipment issues, and implement safe, reliable repairs.
• Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and special-purpose machines as assigned.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts, and complete assigned tasks.
• Test malfunctioning machinery, determine required repairs, and coordinate repair plans with the head mechanic or lead as needed.
• Install equipment and electrical components and test to ensure proper functioning and safe operation.
• Dismantle equipment using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Lubricate, clean, and service parts and equipment to ensure proper operation and extend equipment life.
• Support equipment installation, decommissioning, and mechanical maintenance activities as needed.
• Work with gears, bearings, pumps, and other mechanical components, including pump and gear repair.
• Perform industrial welding and fabrication tasks as required for equipment repair and modification.
• Interpret and work from blueprints and technical documentation when installing or repairing equipment.
• Conduct reactive maintenance in response to equipment failures and production needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with facility safety standards.
• Perform other related maintenance duties as assigned to support production and facility operations.
